If you are tired of everyday fuss there is a great chance to feel the freedom of mind. You will have a trekking tour during which you will enjoy primordial nature of mountainous Kyrgyzstan and visit numerous lakes with pure shining water. In time many traditions of different peoples sank in to oblivion. It doesn't concern Kyrgyzstan, here people keep all their traditions and customs. You will have chance to know many interesting sometimes even unbelievable things here.
Day 1: Bishkek - Chon Kemin valley (170 km - 4 h)
You will meet up with our guide at Manas International Airport .The guide will accompany you to the Bishkek City (30 min. drive), where you will start the day with breakfast in Dungan (Chinese Muslims) guesthouse. If you arrive too early we offer you a nice room with comfortable beds and you will be able to take a shower. The half of the day will be dedicated to City Tour around Bishkek, lunch will be included. The tour includes visit of the central Ala-Too Square, Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Pobeda Square (Victory Square), National philharmonic, Bazaar, Art Gallery and many others places of interest. After your transferring to the Chon Kemin valley, you will visit the Burana Museum, a site of a medieval city of Balasagun, the capital of the Karahanid Kaganate, the Turkic dynasty of the 11 century. Dinner and overnight are in Ashuu guesthouse.
Day 2: Chon Kemin valley - Tamga (150 km - 4 h)
After breakfast you will have free time to take pictures of the beauty of Chon Kemin Valley, large alpine valley. Here you will see Kyrgyz nomads with their yurts and sheeps as it was 1000 years ago among the Tian Shian Mountains, fast rivers, and pine trees. Before your departure to Tamga village, you will stop not far from Chon-Kemin for two hours hike in Konorchek labyrinths, where at the end of the gorge you will watch you a magic view where of red mountains. Then you will have a picnic there. Afterwards we continue our trip to Tamga village that is situated on the southern shore of Issik Kul lake, the second highest mountain lake in the world and the biggest one in Kyrgyzstan. There is a sanatorium in Tamga where soviet astronauts rehabilitated and trained their skills. The altitude and climate was ideally good for them. On the way to Tamga you will visit our famous Talgat - a hunter with golden eagles. He will tell you about his birds. After it you can take some pictures of the eagles. After arrival in Tamga village you will have time to swim in the lake. Accommodation is in Askar guesthouse. (1600meters asl).
Day 3: Tamga - Barskoon gorge (1 hour by car) - Dunguromo Pass (3570 m) - Dugurotmo gorge (trekking time 5 hours)
After breakfast you will be driven to Barskoon village, where you will visit the family which makes Kyrgyz dwelling "yurt". Here you will find out many amazing facts about them. Then you continue your way to Barskoon gorge, one of the most picturesque places in the mountains of Terskey Ala Too Range. There is one of the highest waterfalls in Kyrgyzstan (alt. 2500 m) that is 60 meters high. You will see the stone of astronauts, where is a sign of the first man in the space - Urii Gagarin. From this place you will start your trekking. You will have an ascent to Dunguromo pass (3100 m) passing through which you will find yourselves in a picturesque valley Dunguromo. After few kilometers down from the pass, we will stop for the camping. Dinner will give us an opportunity to share with impressions of the first day. Night will be in tents at the altitude of 2850 m.
Day 4: Dungurotmo gorge - Zauka Pass (3750 m) - Chokolu Lake (7 hours)
On the fourth day you will get up early around 7 o'clock in the morning. You will have a « vertical » hike to the Chokolu Lake over Zauka Pass. It is a historical pass, the part of the great Silk Road. Famous travellers passed this place in the old time: Ella Mayart 1932, Semenov Tyanshyanskii 1856, the Chinese Muslims came from China 200 years ago. The landscape is relatively flat, from vegetation prevails fine grass and moss, the climate is close to the tundra climate. Coming closer to the lake you will set up your camp for the night. Night is in tents at the altitude of 3800 m.
Day 5: Chokolu Lake - Zauka Pass (3750 m) - Dzukuu gorge - Ashu Kashka Suu gorge
In the beginninof fifth day you will prepare all your equipment and belongings and then immersing it all on the horse you will go further. You will have to get back to the Zauka pass and after passing it you will come to the Dzhukuu valley. Then you will go down the gorge about 20 km and reach the foot of the Ashu Kashka Suu gorge where we set up camp for the night. On the way you will see Kyrgyz nomads that live here in summer time. Kyrgyz nomads are the most hospitable people in Central Asia. You will try Kyrgyz cheese there and if you want you can try Kyrgyz beer (fermented mare's milk). Dinner and overnight are in tents at the altitude of 2770 m.
Day 6: Ashu Kashka Suu gorge - Ashu Tor Pass (3490 m) - Jukuchak gorge (7 hours)
Early morning will be dedicated to preparing of all your gear and then you will hike up the gorge Ashu Kashka Suu. Reaching the foot of the pass, you will make a short halt for lunch and then you will have to climb to the Ashu Tor Pass (3490 m). After the pass you will get into the Dzhukuchak gorge where warm mineral springs are. Here will have are given an opportunity to take a bath with hot mineral water which we all dreamed of for now 4 days of our trek. After good bath our guide will offer you a local beer but not Kyrgyz beer, this time is real Kyrgyz beer. Dinner and overnight are in tents at an altitude of 2500 m.
Day 7: Dzhukuchak gorge - Orto Bulak Pass (2900 m) - Kichi Kyzyl Suu gorge
In the morning you will go in the direction of Kichi Kyzyl Suu Valley. Firstly you will get the territory of Issyk Kul forestry that is located in the Dzhukuchak gorge. Further you will have to climb to the pass Orto Bulak (2900 m). Then we come to the Kichi Kyzyl Suu gorge where we break our camp for the night. This place is famous for its primordial beauty and stunning views of mountains. After that you will, have dinner, night you will spend in tents at the altitude of 2300 m. asl.
Day 8: Kichi Kyzyl Suu gorge - Chon Kyzyl Suu gorge - Jili Suu water warm springs
After good breakfast you will start your trekking in the direction of the ChonKyzyl Suu valley. First you will have to go down the Kichi Kyzyl Suu gorge through the territory of forestry. Then we will go along the Djily Suu Mountains and finally we arrive in Chon Kyzyl Suu gorge. Here we enter the area of Ak Tash. Then you will go up about three miles to the warm mineral springs where you will again be able to take a warm bath and relax. You will overnight in tents at the altitude of 2150 m.
Day 9: Chon Kyzyl Suu gorge - Kok Dzhayyk Pass (2700 meters) - Jeti Oguz gorge
The ninth day will be the last day of your trekking. After breakfast we will go in the direction of the Jeti Oguz gorge - one of the most popular places to visit in our country. First, we will go down to the place of Ak Tash, where you will cross the Kyzyl Suu River (Red River). Then you will begin the ascension to the pass Kok Dzhayyk. The road will pass through a small pine forest, which will impress you with its silence. It seems as if the whole world looks at you there. After the forest you will look at the Jeti Oguz gorge which will impress you for sure. After a couple of kilometers you will reach the yurt camp Kok Dzhayyk where you will stay for the night. Dinner and overnight will be served in yurts at the altitude of 2300 m.
Day 10: Jety Oguz gorge - Karakol (30 km - 1 h)
After breakfast you will continue your journey in the direction of the capital of Issik Kul region. Check-in hotel Elita**. Today you will visit Prjvalsky Memorial Complex, devoted to the famous Russian explorer of Central Asia. In order to comprehend the Kyrgyz life of the 19th century you will visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral and the wooden mosque, made in the Chinese style. In the evening you will be driven to Dyishin village, where you will have dinner with Chinese Muslims, here they are called Dungans. They came from Dunhuang, central China. Chinese Muslims came to Kyrgyzstan 200 years ago when it was a war between Chinese and not Chinese nationalities and religions. They are good agricultural masters and very famous for national cuisine. You will try different kinds of salads and of course national dungan bread. After dinner you will come back to hotel.
Day 11: Karakol - Kochkor village (330 km-6 h)
Transfer to the Kochkor village is early in the morning, where you can explore national traditions and customs, watch the process of making traditional Kyrgyz carpets and visit a handicraft museum. Also you will see and participate in the process of assembling a yurt, a traditional felt house of nomadic people. In the evening you will listen to the Folk-concert. On the way to Kochkor village you will go along the north shore of Issyk Kul Lake - it means you will see the "pearl of Central Asia" form all sights! Dinner will be in a yurt and carpet-making show. Overnight is in a guesthouse.
Day 12: Kochkor - Bishkek
Transfer to Bishkek. Accommodation is in a guesthouse. You will have free time to walk around the city and to buy souvenirs for your family and friends.
Day 13: Bishkek - Europe
Our guide will meet you at the hotel and see you off to the airport according to the details of your flight home.
