Are you ready to explore Kyrgyzstan? It is a unique country that hidden in the heart of the Tian-Shan Mountains. The land of contrasts offering multitude of spectacular landscapes: turquoise lakes, snowy mountains, wide steppes, green fields, sandy deserts, fast rivers, diversity of wild life with many rare and endangered species, historical and archeological places related to the Great Silk Road and people saving all the traditions of their nomadic ancestors. That is why Kyrgyzstanis called "A second Switzerland".
Day 1: Bishkek - Karakol (450 km - 8 h) (1 650 m. a. s. l.)
After breakfast we begin our way to Karakol town that took place on the eastern part of the celestial Issyk-Kul Lake. On our way, we will visit the Burana Tower (minaret from the 11th century) and an Cemetery of Balbans (open air museum of stone warriors). Then you will be brought to the outstanding Issyk-Kul Lake - the second largest alpine lake in the world (1608m.above sea level). The Lake is also known as "the pearl of Central Asia". You are going to really enjoy the amazing sight of the Tien Shan Mountains that surround the whole lake. Thanks to the salty water, Lake Issyk Kul possesses curative properties. On the way, we will make a short break to give you the possibility to visit ancient stone inscriptions (dating back to 800 B.C.). They were depicted by local tribes of Saks and Usuns that believed that Issyk Kul Lake was the center of the world. During the move to Karakol town you will move along the whole northern shore of Issyk Kul Lake. Overnight in a guesthouse "Elita" in Karakol.
Day 2: Karakol - Mokraya Polyana glade (2790 m a. s. l.)
After breakfast we visit the Dungan mosque. One of its attractions is the fact that it is built in Chinese style without using a single metal nail. This will be followed by the visit of an old wooden Orthodox Church. It was made of wood more than 100 years ago and even nowadays attracts a lot of tourists. Afterwards transfer to Karakol gorge. It is an amazing gorge that is located at the heart of the Terskey Mountains. Here we can see Turkestan spruce trees that are widespread only here in Kyrgyzstan. The height of the tree reaches 18 meters and the girth of its trunk - 1.5 meters. We will have hiking to the bottom of the glade named « Mokraya Polyana » (7 h). Overnight is in tents on the elevation of 2790 m. above sea level.
Day 3: Mokraya Polyana glade - Eastern Irdik lake (3 200 m. a. s. l.)
Breakfast hike to the eastern Irdik Lake (3200 m, 7 hours hiking) over the pass Bokovoi (3300 m). There we can see a wonderful and unforgettable sunset over the most beautiful peaks of Kungey Ala-Too mountainous range: Fuchika (4010m), Morozov (3960m), 800 years of Moscow (3872m). Overnight is in tents.
Day 4: Eastern Irdik Lake - Western Irdik Lake (3 300 m. a. s. l.)
Today we will hike for 7 hours surrounded of edelweiss (the flowers of love) and pastures that are used by Kyrgyz nomads. At the altitude of 3650 m we will see many marmots. We will hike over Severnyi pass that is 3380 m. above sea level. While hiking at these places you will be able to forget about busy civilization and really relax enjoying the peaceful views of the great Mother Nature. Camping at the altitude of 3300 m. above sea level. Overnight in tents
Day 5: Western Irdik Lake - Karakol (1 650 m. a. s. l.)
After a breakfast we start a descent to Diychin valley (5h) where live many dungan people. Dungans are Chinese Muslims who came to Kyrgyzstan from China in the 19th century. Today we visit a Dungan family and taste traditional dungan cuisine. Afterwards transfer to Karakol town (10 km - 25 min). Overnight in "Elita" guesthouse (1650 m).
Day 6: Karakol - Kochkor (280 km - 5 h, 1800 m. a. s. l.)
In the morning after visiting a local bazaar and tasting national dishes we move to Kochkor village. On the way we will visit Djeti Oguz Mountains that are very popular because of their beauty and of course you will see the Broken Heart Mountain you will be told a beautiful legend by your guide. Then driving along the southern shore of Issyk Kul Lake we will visit a private factory for making yurts. Your lunch will be in Bokonbaevo village in Talgat's House. Talgat is a famous hunter with golden eagles. Hunting with golden eagle is very popular in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia. After arrival in Kochkor village we will learn about national traditions and customs. You will participate in the process of making traditional Kyrgyz carpets! After it traditional dinner in a yurt, accompanied with a folk concert. This night you will spend in a home stay with a local family.
Day 7: Kochkor - Bishkek (210 km - 5 h)
Traditional breakfast will be shared with hosts. Transfer to the capital of Kyrgyzstan - Bishkek city. Accommodation in «Asia Mountains» guesthouse, free time for a rest. The farewell dinner is served in national restaurant with national music.
